An Extraordinary Pivot
I am an ordinary woman who had two extraordinary experiences in 2004.
I chose to move toward them with curiosity rather than shrink from them in fear. I embraced the process of awakening (sometimes called enlightenment) almost twenty years ago, committing to an embodied spiritual path integrated with personal and professional growth.
This past May I had another extraordinary experience. I’ve been living into it these last seven months, allowing the disorientation and liminal space to eventually coalesce into a new way of being and a new vision for my life.
There are hardly words for the experience itself, so I’ve only shared it with a few close friends. But as the year closes and I prepare to launch a new website and offerings in 2024, I sense it’s time to tell some of the story. Enough for you to make sense of the business pivot, the long periods of quiet, and the pulling back from social media.
In late April and May, I was re-connecting with the teachings of non-dual Shaiva tantra through Christopher Wallis’ book Tantra Illuminated: The philosophy, history, and practice of a timeless tradition.
The essence of the teaching is this: we are each a unique expression of God, the creative energy of the Universe. We are not separate from it. We are it.
This is not a new concept for me, I've been studying and practicing oneness for 25 years, initially through Anusara Yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, but also through the teachings of New Thought and Unity Spiritual Centers.
As I was listening to the book, I felt myself receiving a transmission - an energy or frequency that is emitted through reading or the spoken word. Then on May 16, 2023, I listened to a passage and had a series of conversations that led to what one might call an activation, receiving shaktipat, or making contact with God in its unfiltered form as Arjuna does in the Bhagavad Gita.
My experience was of white light rushing through the crown of my head as I lay on the chiropractor’s table and he touched points on my body. The flow of energy started as I drove to his office. The crown of my head opened and I began dictating the download into my phone. As I lowered myself to the table, I sobbed with joy, a joy that is inexpressible in words. I gripped to the table as an intense white light came in through my crown then vibrated and hummed through my entire body. I felt like Superman flying through space. Divine white space. All frequency, vibration, and visions; no words.
I don’t know how long it lasted, but when it was over, Dr. Evin and I just looked at each other and he said “Whoa. WTF was that?” But of course, I knew WTF it was and I knew what it meant for my life because I had experienced something like it in 2004.
Like all awakening experiences, it was incredibly destructive.
My nervous and electrical systems, which typically move in a wave pattern, were overtaken by the light as it blasted apart energetic stuckness held in the tissue and energy body causing what I can only imagine were electromagnetic particles to fly around within me.
The destruction was in service of releasing beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve me and stepping into a higher vibration of the love frequency. I didn’t know what, exactly, was being released that day, but I trusted the process.
The next day, a new wave pattern began to emerge. I returned to the office so Dr. Evin could help me integrate it. In time, I noticed what beliefs and behaviors had been released and what new ones were emerging.
It’s been a slow, steady process with the help of some amazing people and a lot of solitude. I don’t think it’s complete yet, but I’m different in ways I can feel but can’t always articulate. My work has a different quality to it and how I hear, see, feel and experience the world has changed.
Those around me can feel the shift, too. They describe it as a deeper sense of presence, more clarity, the ability to articulate that clarity with more neutrality, more accuracy in my readings, and a felt sense of being energetically held and healed.
All this to say, I’ve been focused inward for a while, and I’m beginning to emerge.
With a new business structure – and a new website to match – I’m feeling more aligned with what was revealed to me during these experiences.
My new offerings will unabashedly integrate psychic channeling, energy healing, and intuitive coaching. Yet I’ll continue to focus on supporting women who have been on the path for a while as they embody that sense of oneness in a grounded, purposeful way. As they recognize and embody their intuitive knowing and embrace their spiritual, psychic, and real-world gifts.
