Are You A Crystal Gem?
My husband Jacob and I have been watching this sweet animated series called Steven Universe. The show tells the coming-of-age story of a young boy, Steven Universe, who lives with the Crystal Gems—magical, humanoid aliens named Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl—in the fictional town of Beach City. Steven, who is half-Gem, has adventures with his friends and helps the Gems protect the world from their own kind. Each episode is 15-20 minutes, and we find them to be uplifting.
The show also reminds me to connect with my own love of crystals. Crystals and gems are all over the house and my office, providing energetic support and healing day in and day out. I notice that over time, I am drawn to different crystals and often cycle through them in a particular order when I am doing inner work.
Romancing the Stone – Labradorite
Recently, I’ve had a love affair with Labradorite. This is not the first time I’ve had a love affair with Labradorite. I first purchased some slabs of them at a crystal shop in Tucson. I still have them scattered around my office and house. Jacob tends to buy me jewelry with Labradorite. I must have half a dozen necklaces and a bracelet or two, three of which he bought for me this Christmas!
I’ve been wearing a necklace or two almost every day since Christmas and that makes so much sense that I am drawn to it right now. So much of my inner and outer world is transforming and I can benefit from its healing properties. Here’s what one website says about them:
“A stone of transformation, Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance. It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness, and grounds spiritual energies. Excellent for strengthening intuition – promoting psychic abilities. Powerful in revealing the truth behind illusions, Labradorite banishes fears and insecurities, and strengthens faith in the self and trust in the universe. It stimulates the imagination and calms an overactive mind, developing enthusiasm and new ideas.”
The Book of Stones* by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian (one of my favorite reference books for stones) suggests, among many other things, that
“Wearing labradorite as a pendant can center one in constant awareness of the multiple layers of reality. It activates the inner eye, allowing one to more clearly envision the past, future and distant places.”
My Experience with Phantom Golden Selenite
I’m having a similar experience with phantom golden selenite. I just can’t get enough of it! I’m carrying it around the house and the office – it’s always close by and even on my body. I love this description of golden selenite by Soulful Crystals:
“The frequency of Sunset Gold Selenite connects to the solar plexus and third eye chakras, opening and activating these chakras. It helps to integrate the energies of the third eye and solar plexus chakras so that one is able to creatively manifest that which is from one’s heart, directing one’s will in a loving, joyful manner.
Its energy allows one to create one’s reality based on one’s intention and trust, and brings the energies of joy and wisdom into one’s life. Selenites connect one to one’s higher self. Thus, this gold-toned Selenite helps one to become attuned to, and harmonize with, one’s soul purpose for this lifetime.”
My personal experience of golden selenite is that it fosters an incredible stillness. It helps me drop into inner stillness, meditation, and focus on clients and their aura as we work together. Even when it’s not present in the room, but in the larger house, I can feel its stillness, inner calm, awakening of the 3rd eye, and intuitive vision.
Earth Elements and Healing Stones
These are lovely earth elements, healing stones, seem like a perfect fit for this moment in my life. These stones offer a stability, centeredness in the Self/intuition/Higher Self, that guides me towards freedom. “Freedom from what?” you ask. I answer this in my next blog.
In the meantime, let me know about your favorite stones and/or the ones you are most drawn to in the moment in the Dragonfly Den Facebook group. And don’t forget to join me there for free intuitive readings and conversation about all things woo every Friday at noon Eastern/9 am Pacific!
